The Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector, established under the Public Sector Act 2009, sets out the standards expected of all public sector employees. It supports a professional, accountable and trusted public service.
The Code outlines the core principles, values and conduct requirements that guide behaviour and decision-making. It is structured around four key areas:
- Application of the Code, including the responsibilities of leaders
- The four foundations of public service: Democracy, Impartiality, Accountability and Diversity
- Public sector values
- Professional conduct standards, including disciplinary provisions
