The Manager Essentials Program develops the confidence and skills of new and experienced managers so they can lead themselves, their team and the business with greater clarity and conviction.

Over four months, leadership experts will equip participants with the tools required to become confident managers who shape a future focused workforce.

The program focuses on three essential areas: Manage Self, Manage the Team and Manage the Business.

The Manager Essentials Program provides managers the support, encouragement and skills they need to ramp up their leadership impact and inspire inclusive and collaborative teams.

The Kick-off Summit
Connect with your program colleagues for the first time and enjoy engaging keynote addresses about supporting a vibrant and resilient team from senior leadership from within the SA public sector.

EQ leadership assessment

Discover more about yourself as a leader through an emotional intelligence (EQ) self-assessment. Explore your competency levels, strengths to leverage, and address areas of improvement.

Face-to-face workshops

Learn from highly respected experts with local and international exposure. They will work with you on contemporary topics and leadership models useful for driving results within your team.

Interactive webinars

Tune into virtual sessions delivered by quality facilitators, sharing the latest approaches and personal insights to enhance workforce performance and potential.

HR Essentials online learning

Explore the essential HR responsibilities you have as a manager with self-directed, online modules. Explore the requirements of a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Success support groups

Build your network across the SA public sector. Collaborate with, and learn from, like-minded colleagues from other SA agencies and embed key messages from the program.

Line manager briefings

Expect updates to your line manager which will enable them to engage with you as the program progresses.

Closing celebration

Celebrate your successful participation of the program and reflect on key learnings with your program colleagues. Senior public sector leaders share their key tips on being a forward thinking and solution focused manager.

The Manager Essentials Program is designed for South Australian public sector frontline managers and team leaders who are responsible for managing staff.

Participants can be new managers or experienced managers seeking to re-calibrate their skills.

This is a practising leadership and management program and is not suitable for aspiring managers.

Endorsement from your line manager and department/agency is required.

While executives may attend, specific executive development opportunities are provided through the South Australian Leadership Academy.

The Manager Essentials program runs for approximately four months.

Investment: $2,195 +  GST

For individuals, you can register your interest via this form and we will forward your request to your department/agency's HROD.

You need to have endorsement from your line manager and department/agency prior to filling in the Manager Essentials registration form.

You will be required to acknowledge this on the form.
